For the past year, his momma would bring him to me and we would swim. I would hold him on his back with a few pieces of special equipment to hold him safetly and
he would start moving in the water!
HE WOULD COO TO ME IN JOY!
Can you impagine?
Finally being able to move?
I was blessed to meet the founder and creator of this float at the AOAP Convention in February and bought one for my young swimmer. After talking with Nancy Higgs of Water Way Babies about this aide, I bought every size so I could add these to our Minnows & Mommas Class. Created specifically for individuals with physical imparements, this float (very, VERY well made with hand holds and a chin rest), hold the swimmer UP and allow their bodies to move freely. The health ramifications are immense. I can't wait to try it with Benjamin. I can get him to feel upright in the water! Imagine! Add leg weights and allow him to water walk!

It is NOT inflatable and provides
a 6 point harness to hold our
angelfish on the front OR on the back.

It also gives our mommas and daddies a chance to chill at the pool!
Even our older swimmers who are still learning to find their feet can use these floats and enjoy the pool with family. Not sure? Ask Asher! The pic shows him in the largest size float! Don't worry, he'll be out of it soon but boy, did he have a blast on vacation!
You can find these on Amazon! Choose carefully, there are some that are inflatable.

Both Swim Angelfish (R) and AFGA use these OSCAR BUDDY BACKPACKS to help our angelfish gain confidence and overcome the roadblocks they face in our lessons. We use these tools on a creative "as needed" basis in our lessons to help our angelfish overcome and become more confident in the water.

Why bother? Our angelfish can often benefit from these special tools which help them overcome anxiety, fear and roadblocks that can hinder swimming progress. Bath time fun too!
1. Goggles - Great to help become confident putting faces IN the water. Choose wisely, AFGA loves Giggly Goggles and Froggles because of their unique design.

2. Swim Caps - wearing a swim ear band or swim cap (OR BOTH) can add pressure to the head and helps our swimmers regulate. It can also help cover sensitive ears/tubes.
Look for nylon if you want an extra 'hug'.
3. Flippers - AFGA call these MAGIC FLIPPERS, Made by Finis and recommended by SAF, these are different in terms of design which can help our angelfish feel their kicking as well as help them remain in prone. They come in sizes that will cover ANY swimmer, even babies! Also, for our toe walkers, wearing a flipper helps overcome that habit too! Naturally. Just by swimming.
The progress our swimmers can make as they move from safety to proficiency can be enhanced with tools that help their bodies learn proper body and kicking positions.

Add a few leg weights and flippers, our swimmers can really grow and get stronger as they work on endurance and strength.
AFGA is adding these Wonder Boards to our bag of tricks in both private and SOGA classes.
