Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming!

AFGA's Beginnings - A labor of love.

AFGA began from a deep desire to provide as much

access and opportunity for differently abled swimmers.

Our desire was fueled by our deep love of our own sweet angelfish.

Linda Cosby and Judy Smith

We learned early on that it wasn't enough just to love - HOW we are all trained is the CRITICAL component.

Being avid swimmers and instructors of swimming, both Linda and Judy sought out and mastered the very best in

Adaptive Swimming Methodology and became the first of

AFGA's Swim Whisperers utilizing the

Swim Angelfish (R) Adaptive Swimming Methodology.

At the start, we had 12 angelfish swimming with us.

By the end of our first year, we had added three new instructors

and were working with over 100 swimmers every week!

Now, as we finish the summer of 2021, our team of 7 has worked with over 200 swimmers every week, launched new programs, expanded our SOGA program and look forward to a fall/winter with more swimmers involved and more ACCESS and OPPORTUNITY for each angelfish to achieve SAFETY, PROFICIENCY and INCLUSION in aquatics.

Safety/Proficiency/Inclusion - Access and Opportunity!

AFGA knows that our swimmers take extra special time

to be able to master the skills of swimming.

We also know we must approach EACH swimmer uniquely.

We constantly work to learn and grow in our own skills as instructors and are committed to a "Force NO child, Do NO harm philosophy".
